Already mixed in is better so you know it is evenly distributed. You only need the water incorporated until it is fluffy and light, then stop! With homemade don’t over beat the egg whites.

Well this is egg yolk free with no butter so in those cases it would mean there is less fat contents. There still is sugar and calories in it as other desserts would have though so eating it in moderation is important but if you were to compare this to a pound cake or cupcakes I would say overall it would be healthier than other choices.

What makes angel food cake different from regular cake?

Several elements are different, the biggest one is the texture. Instead of a more dense bite, this is so light you usually can’t even cut it with a fork. It is almost easier to eat torn off into a piece and almost eaten like cotton candy believe it or not.

The pan you bake it in differs too as you’ll need an ungreased fluted pan where the middle lifts out of the rounded outside piece. It is also not typically served frosted at all. That is not necessary as it is quite sweet almost like candy.
